Push

Full Wall Walks

Beginner Level 30/100

Full wall walks take you from a plank to a vertical handstand against the wall on every rep, then back down with the same control. They are among the best drills for inverted shoulder strength, scapular stability, and body awareness toward a freestanding handstand.

Execution

Plank with feet on the wall. Brace core and glutes hard. With small, controlled steps, walk the hands toward the wall as the feet climb. Continue until the body is as vertical as possible (chest nearly touching the wall). Hold 1 second while breathing, then return with the same tempo.

Key points

Heels driving toward the ceiling on the way up; shoulders always active, pushing the floor away; in the handstand, full-body tension (never relaxed); on the way down, keep the plank and step the feet down gradually.

Extra benefits

Hits the serratus anterior, mid/lower traps, and the posterior shoulder chain—areas that are often underdeveloped.

Progression to freestanding handstand
