Push

Uneven Push-ups

Intermediate Level 58/100

Uneven push-ups are an asymmetric variant with one hand on the floor and the other elevated. That asymmetry is an excellent bridge toward one-arm push-ups and combines unilateral pressing with anti-rotational core work.

Execution

One hand on the floor, the other on an elevated object (ball, block, step). Body perfectly aligned without rotation. Lower until the chest nearly touches the floor hand. Press up. Alternate sides per your session plan.

Progression

Raise the object as high as comfortable, or add a pause at the bottom. Over time reduce elevated-hand support: palm → fingers → thumb → nothing (= one-arm push-up).

Errors

Letting the body rotate toward the floor hand; lowering asymmetrically; not bracing the oblique on the elevated-hand side.
