Push-ups
The standard push-up is the most fundamental pushing exercise in calisthenics. Mastering it is the base for ALL advanced variants. No hard variation benefits from a sloppy standard push-up.
It is as much a core anti-rotation exercise as a chest one. If the hips rotate, it does not count.
One-arm Push-ups
Lower and press with one arm while keeping the hips square.

Uneven push-ups are an asymmetric variant with one hand on the floor and the other elevated. That asymmetry is an excellent bridge toward one-arm push-ups and combines unilateral pressing with anti-rotational core work.
Archer push-ups are a direct progression toward the one-arm push-up. One hand does nearly all the pressing while the other arm extends sideways as a guide—named for the posture of an archer drawing a bow.
The one-arm push-up is one of the most iconic and challenging pressing skills in calisthenics. It takes years of unilateral strength, core stability, and refined technique.
